Dance salsa in Time Square New York

This performance was created during the covid-19 pandemic with international dancers from all over the world representing the countries of Mexico, Canada, Poland, USA, Japan and China for the @ottawabachatafestival Director and choreography: @plinasalsa This has not been an easy year for the world however goals do not stop or pause for dancers. This project was created from the heart for my students who love to dance salsa. While we can’t meet together on the stage we can still collaborates and share in that which we love to do as a team. Hope you enjoy the art. The performance starts with Paulina passing the “Six on Broadway” theater where she sees her previous “Take Five - Take a Break” project danced with @isabella. She feels inspired and her own steps on Broadway begin directing her to the Times Square district where she sees her students performing in the heart of New York City. East Coast Boogie Boy and Bboy @ivancofield @heatrockone displays is popping and breaking skills. With his West Coast Boogaloo influenced style of popping Heat Rock pays homage to all street style dancers and performers ever to grace the streets. In this piece, the performers have recorded their salsa choreography outdoors to project their identity and culture as well as the country where they live. Like or share if you enjoy the teams work. Take Five - Take a Break

This performance was created during the covid-19 pandemic with international dancers from all over the world for the @ottawasalsacongress. This has not been an easy year for the world. Take a Break - Take 5 The performance starts with saxophonist & flautist, Mitch Frohman, known for his 25-year stint with the Tito Puente Orchestra as well as his membership with the Mongo Santamaria. His music in Central Park, “Take Five,” inspires Paulina to dance with her students who are dancers are from different countries and different cultures. What connected us together is dancing. Dancers recorded salsa choreographies outdoors to project their identity, culture as well as the country where they live. The Jazz portion was performed by professional dancers from 🇵🇱 @moni.kozlowska @malva.dancer and by juniors (kids) from @thetateacademy Summer Intensive in New Jersay. The Salsa portion was performed by my online students @leilei.shirley @colibrito_azul @karla_cadena @aldonadargacz @anecica @tom_monika @yu_salsa @aircid @ish_araguacu @christieleeintx representing Oaxaca Mexico, Toronto & Montreal Canada, Mexico City, Warsaw & Gdynia and Austin. I open the Jazz performance portion with one of my junior students Isabela Cruz @dancinwithbella from NJ/Dominican Republic. Each dancer that has contributed to “Take 5” comes from a different place in life and have shown bravery and courage throughout the process. I respect, appreciate and admire each of them. Music calls us. Salsa calls us. Jazz is in our blood. I believe providing love and support can bring out the potential in all dancers.
